Rally & Picnic- OC Prius Rally Sat Aug. 5th,2006:

Start at 11am in Crystal Cove Promanade on PCH (Newport Coast), about noon drive up PCH to Huntington Beach –testing our MPG (prize is a new Prius- only 5 inches though), so go around the bay  to get on to Edinger, go to end to Sunset Aquatic Park. Bring a dish to share and soda for our very own Summer PICNIIC.

11am-Meet at Crystal Cove Promenade, Javier's parking lot, 7832 E. Pacific  Coast Highway, Newport Coast. (see directions below). 

Noon, Start Road MPG Rally (people wanting to enter the MPG portion need to reset their MPG to 0) then north on Pacific Coast Highway 20 miles through Corona del Mar, Newport Beach, and Huntington Beach to Sunset Aquatic Park at the end of Edinger (see directions below).  

1pm- about- Picnic at Sunset Aquatic park at end of Edinger in Huntington Beach.  

Bring a dish to share, and your own sodas (we will bring plates and plasticware). There are 4 picnic tables and plenty of parking.

Crystal Cove Promenade (11am):

 From South OC:

North on PCH, past Reed Point Drive , make a right into Crystal Cove Promenade.

Continue driving through this mall until you are almost out (towards Corona del Mar) and you will see a big sign on the left saying Javier’s (7832 E.

Pacific  Coast Highway ) will open next year. Make a left there into the parking lot.  GPS: N33 degrees 34’ 16”, W 117 degrees 50’ 4” 

From North OC:

South on PCH, past Newport Coast Drive (comes down from the 73), left on Crystal Heights Drive. Immediate right to the Crystal Cove Promenade , Right to Javiers (see big sign -7832 E. Pacific  Coast Highway ) and Commercial Capital Bank parking lot.

 Noon to 1pm- drive up PCH to Sunset Aquatic Park:

Go up PCH thru Corona del Mar, Newport Beach, and almost to Huntington Beach, right on Warner, about ½ mile to left on Algonquin,  left on Heil, right on Saybrook Lane which dead ends into Edinger, take a left on Edinger.  Edinger dead ends into the Sunset Aquatic Park (also called Sunset Marina) . Sunset Aquatic Park is a named place in my 2005 NAV system.

 About 1pm Sunset Aquatic Park at Sunset Marina.

If you are missing the first part of the Rally and want to just come to the Picnic-  Go West on Edinger in Huntington Beach to the very end and it is on the left.
